The Mississippi Board of Nursing is responsible for the approval of practical nursing educational programs. The MSBN protects the public by ensuring practical nursing programs offer the educational preparation necessary to promote safe and competent practical nurses. After successfully completing a practical nursing program, the applicant is eligible to qualify for licensure by examination, provided the requirements for examination are met.
