Drew is a native of Meridian, MS, where he resides with his wife, Abby, and their two children, Mac and Hensley. He graduated from West Lauderdale High School and then attended Mississippi College where he graduated with his BSN in 2015. As a new graduate nurse, Drew worked in the ICU at St. Dominic Hospital and had the opportunity to learn from an amazing team of nurses and physicians.

In 2017, Drew began working at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian. At Rush, Drew worked as a staff nurse, earned his CCRN certification, and then accepted the position of charge nurse in the ICU. As charge nurse, Drew worked to ensure the critical care staff had the appropriate supplies, education, and training to successfully care for the hospital's sickest patients.

In 2022, when Ochsner and Rush merged, Drew transitioned to the role of clinical educator where he continues to serve the nurses of Ochsner-Rush. He is the chairman of the Nursing Education & Development Council and is a member of the Critical Care Committee, the Nursing Intravascular Access Committee, and the System Nurse Residency Integration Council. He serves on multiple other workgroups to improve the quality of patient care throughout the health system. Finally, Drew is the coordinator for the Ochsner-Rush Nurse Residency Program. This program works with new graduate nurses to ensure they have the resources and support to successfully transition into their clinical roles. He is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice and to empowering nurses to reach their full potential.

Drew is excited to be part of the Board of Nursing and is thankful for the opportunity to advocate for the nurses and patients of Mississippi.
